Dorstenia crispa lancifolia
Dorstenia are members of the Moraceae or Fig/Ficus Family. They are endemic to North East Africa, especially Arabia and Ethiopia.
This species produces a caudex with skin that appears dark brownish in high light and green in lower light. Crispa lancifolia boasts some incredible foliage. Lanceolate shaped dark green leaves with white venations throughout make a striking backdrop for the peculiar disk-shaped flowers called hypanthodium. The juvenile foliage is wider, shorter, and oblong. As the plant grows, new leaves emerge lanceolate.
These Flying Saucer plants are quirky, colorful, and fun to grow.
