In the Euphorbiaceae family and part of the milii group.
This dwarf species is endemic to Madagascar’s subtropical and tropical dry shrubland. A stout, circular caudex emanates an abundance of long, twisted, gray branches which frequently sprout unique oblong, greenish-red leaves with raised veins and a serrated edge. Multiple pale pink flowers emerge from the base of each leaf and hang like bells.
