Considered a southerly form of rosulatum, its origin of habitat is Toliara, Madagascar.
Previously grown as P. rosulatum v. stenanthum until it was given species status and its new name, cactipes. It has glossy green foliage and a bottle shaped trunk that he thinks resembles that of a small football. The flowers are round, canary yellow, and borne in clusters atop long inflorescence spikes.
These plants in particular are quite branchy.
Very limited supply available in 4 inch pots.
Ships in pot.
