Endemic to central Madagascar, a caudiciform shrub that is basically spineless compared to all the other Pachys.
It produces spines at the base of new leaves, but they quickly fall off. P. decaryi produces an incredible bowling ball like caudex. The leaves are thick and oblong, similar to Plumeria. The flowers are white, fragrant and the largest in the genus.
Pachypodium decaryi is highly sought after and rare due to its difficulty in producing seed.
