One of the African species producing a large subterranean root that can be lifted to expose the swollen caudex that spouts thin, spiny, twisted branches. The leaves are thin and dark green. Flower colors range from pure white to pinkish with additional and usually darker pink or purple mid-stripes.

One of the most cold hardy species in the group, surviving regular frosts and the occasional blanket of snow. 

Available in 2, 4, and 6 inch pots.
