Petopentia natalensis

From Nadal, South Africa, this is an incredible caudiciform vine in the Asclepiadaceae Family.

As it has been grown under several different names, the plant has experienced somewhat of an identity crisis. Grown as Fockea tugelensis, then Fockea natalensis, and finally settling into its current name, Petopentia nantalensis.

In strong light, the oblong foliage is glossy green on top and purple underneath. The caudex is hard like wood, and dark brown with shallow fissures.

Available in 4 inch pots.

Ships in pot.
